The ensemble was formed in 1960, primarily comprising former members of Israeli military entertainment troupes. The original lineup included artists such as Yehoram Gaon, Hanan Goldblatt, Yisrael Poliakov, Amiram Spector, Tuval Patt, Tzvika Gertel, Yossi Tzemach, and Shaike Levi. Their performances combined well-known songs from military bands with new compositions by songwriters like Sasha Argov and Haim Hefer
